Christa Nelson

Christa received her Associate’s degree from Northwest College in Powell before going on to graduate from Oregon State University where she received a B.S. in Animal Science with a focus on Livestock Nutrition.

Following graduation, Christa spent several years working on a ranch in Pryor, Montana. She then moved to the Midwest with her husband where she worked as a Veterinary Technician at VCA Animal Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Christa then accepted a position at the Wisconsin Humane Society which allowed her to focus on a wider range of animal care. Later, Christa opened and managed a doggy daycare and boarding facility in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

After time away from home, Christa decided to move back to Wyoming with her husband where she joined the Cody Veterinary Hospital team. Her kindness and passion for caring for animals of all shapes and sizes has made her a valued member of our team.

Outside of work, Christa has two rescue Border Collie mixes, Barney and Huxley. She enjoys reading, hiking, riding, and forcing her husband to watch the Great British Baking Show (don’t worry, though, she says he’s coming around to it!).
