The Dexter Fund (also known as The Good Samaritan Fund) was built to help ease the financial strain a veterinary emergency can bring, for those who need it most.
Dexter came to us for the first time as a shelter pup waiting on his forever home. Park County Animal Shelter had just taken him in as a surrender who needed a check up and nail trim, but Dexter’s fear of his new environment was overwhelming.
He made mess after mess as our Cody Vet team attempted to soothe him long enough for his nail trim. Our wonderful client wasn’t really looking to adopt a dog when Dexter came into our lives, but she fell in love with him at first sight. They truly were a perfect match.
Dexter came to see us regularly from then on for his pedicures and other needs. After that first visit, his transformation was immediate and dramatic. Dexter never came in with the same fear he had shown when we met him, and he rapidly became one of our favorite visitors. We are so lucky to have shared in the many wonderful years he lived in his forever home and are grateful to have known him.
Thank you so much to Dexter’s mom for inspiring the Dexter Fund with your unparalleled compassion, generosity, and kindness. We appreciate your years of dedication to us and to those around you.
